Renfrewshire Carers Visual Poetry Project

The Everyday Heroes Visual Poetry Project was a collaboration between Renfrewshire Carers Centre and Art Riot Studio.

Over 6 sessions, the young people responded to the prompt of ‘everyday heroes’ inspired by their roles as young carers. Each young carer also used their own poems to inspire artworks which are a mixture of acrylic on canvas, coloured pencil work, and mixed media.

Our young poets and artists were:

Ailey, Amber, Cece, Jack, Kaelan, Maiya, Majmu, Millie, Michaela, and Ruby.

Renfrewshire Carers Centre’s mission is to provide a lifeline for carers in Renfrewshire, improving the quality of their lives and those they care for by ensuring they are informed, involved, supported, and empowered. They work with young people and adults across Renfrewshire.

The Young Carers Visual Poetry Project was exhibited in Paisley Town Hall for the Paisley Book Festival, embracing the PBF 2026 theme 'Everyday Heroes'.
